Wall Street Journal reviews "Enter the Void"
Wall Street Journal Review
To say the very least, Gaspar Noe is a polarizing filmmaker, but what’s amazing about his latest is that it even polarizes critics (well yours truly, anyway) inside themselves: “Enter the Void” is at times audaciously conceived and technically brilliant, and at others tedious, repetitive and vulgar. But it’s a movie that absolutely has to be seen, and the new DVD/ Blu-ray’s 161-minute director’s cut offers even more of one of the “most” movies you’ll probably ever see. If the running time doesn’t fully test your patience, there are deleted scenes, teasers, trailers, featurettes, and galleries to give you more to look at; but for my money, the release is worth checking out if only to sit through the opening credits, which rank among my favorite moments of 2010, no matter how I felt about the rest of the movie.
